Surrey - Newton Martial Arts kids ask what is belt meaning for Newton - Taekwondo – Surrey – Delta?

Newton martial arts – taekwondo students ask me what do the colors of Surrey Taekwondo belts mean and who came up with the idea of choosing those belt colors?  Ever since Taekwondo was introduced to Vancouver, New Westminster, Burnaby, Surrey, Delta, Maple Ridge, etc, martial arts kids ask the importance of taekwondo belt colors? 

So let’s get right into it!

There primarily are 5 solid and 5 striped belts from the first taekwondo white belt to the first black belt in Newton – Surrey – Delta Taekwondo. 
The 5 primary colors of Taekwondo’s belt system are white, yellow, green, blue, red, and black belt:

The Taekwondo Belt System credit goes to Grandmaster Jong Kim; who was instrumental in choosing of the 5 belt colors and meaning derived from.

White Belt represents purity and innocence from a knowledge perspective in taekwondo.  It means you do not know nothing about this martial arts and are ready to progress in knowledge of Newton – Surrey – Delta Taekwondo.

Yellow Belt represents a plant seed which has started its infancy in growth in taekwondo in Newton – Surrey.

Green Belt represents that seed maturing in similar to the green stem and leaves which a plant grows.  Newton – Surrey Taekwondo students start planting roots and maturing growth which are laying a strong foundation for further martial arts development.

Blue Belt represents that Taekwondo plant growth ever reaching skywards to the blue heavens.  Surrey – Newton Taekwondo students can look back from where they started and can further see where they need to go in reaching higher excellence in Newton – Surrey martial arts.

Red Belt represents that a Delta – Surrey – Newton Taekwondo student should start to become dangerous!  Other people should be aware of whom they are dealing with.

Black belt represents opposite of white belt.  A Surrey – Newton taekwondo Black Belt has garnered much knowledge and Taekwondo skill.  
 
In summary, the colors of the belts darken as you progress higher in taekwondo skill!
